“But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” Psalms 31:14 NKJV
What does it look like to trust in God? What does it feel like to trust in God? Trust is something many of us struggle with now in society. We have this notion that people are not to be trusted unless they prove otherwise. It’s guilty until proven innocent and our hearts judge pretty harshly. We are moved by emotion and attribute God’s love to mere man. We believe that God must prove his love to us and somehow pass our many tests in order for us to see if He can be trusted. We trust Him when things are going well but we start acting funny when things get a little hectic.
I remember when I thought I had put all my trust in God but He later told me that I have given up. There’s a difference between surrendered and giving up. I didn’t care anymore about the outcome and in my mind, I thought that was me surrendering to God’s will. When we put our trust in God there’s a change that happens in our lives. We love God so we believe His word to be true and when the One who loves you says that all things work for the good of those who love Him. Do not let your trust be determined by the events of this life. Trust Him For He is God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for being a God that loves past my faults. I thank You for how you are faithful even when I am faithless. Help me to know that above all else that I can put my trust in You. Help me to believe Your word. In Jesus name, Amen.
