Communication

Communication

Communication 150 150 Stage - BCF

Matthew 6:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

The number one reason many relationships don’t work is communication.  So how can we have a relationship with God when there is no communication.  If the only time we converse with God is in church or at a church event, then something is wrong with our relationship.

Imagine the only time your family ever spoke to you was in public.  Imagine how that would make you feel. Unfortunately, some don’t have to imagine.  Many have already experienced what it’s like to only be valued when there are people watching.  So, why do we place God in this situation?

To have a real relationship with God means having open communication with him, in our secret place.  How often do you converse with God? How often do you spend quality time with God? Do you give God your full attention or do you say a quick prayer as you lay in bed? Do you really take time to listen, or do you just tell Him what you want and think?

Dear Lord, I repent for not spending quality time with you.  Lord, help me to wake up in the morning to pray. Help me to submit to you and honor you through my prayers. I want a real relationship with you Lord.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
