Dear family,
Bethel Campus Fellowship (BCF) is in prayers daily for all those who are affected by the pestilence called COVID-19. This is a challenging time for everyone, especially students, but we shall overcome it if we continue to live by faith in God and not by our feelings. Our God is able to save. As it is written in Hebrews 7:25, “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.” Jesus Christ is not a reluctant Savior – He is very willing to save (Matthew 8:1-3).
While we trust God, we must also do our part, and that includes simple things like washing our hands, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds. It is important that as young people, we must think about the elderly who are more prone to severe symptoms from COVID-19. Let’s protect our parents and other elderly relatives by staying home, as has been requested by the government.
Bethel Campus Fellowship believes that Jesus Christ is the answer to the global coronavirus infestation. Pestilences are not new – we have examples in Scripture. In Numbers 21, when snakes invaded the camp of the Israelites and killed every one that was bitten, we see that in verses 8 and 9 “the Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.” Moses’s action in the wilderness was explained in John 3:14-15, which says – “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” Jesus Christ came to save us, not only from sin, but from suffering and death. The Bible said in Hebrews 2:14, “Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”
BCF encourages all students everywhere to try Jesus in this moment of fear and confusion in exchange for healing and peace of mind. He promised us peace and joy, even in tribulations. Contact us if you want to know more about Jesus Christ at – contact@bethelcampusfellowship.com or 240-965-4838. Our team of volunteers and staff will respond quickly to your call to pray with you and answer your questions.
Also, all BCF campus-based Bible studies have migrated into virtual platforms and each school will continue with weekly meetings through a well-coordinated Google Hangout. The meetings times and linked below.
In order to reach more students and to help relieve the impact of the coronavirus on the more than 43 million students who are moving back home for the rest of the semester, we are opening up our virtual Bible studies to anyone who is a student (College and High School) and desires fellowship, prayer and the Word of God. Please invite your friends and families to partake in weekly fellowship with us through any of our school chapters in North America.
Our vision is – Leading students to Christ and preparing them to become reliable men and women that God can entrust with his word for the next generation.
Sincerely,
Dr George Ude
Jesus Christ Is The Answer
In addition, the major things to do are:
- To remain calm knowing that God has promised to perfect all that concerns us
- Meditate on the truth in the word of God and let the Gospel (Good News) be your best resource
- Call into the BCF Prayer line daily at 10 pm. # 719-955-1670 Passcode 537148
- Pray for Godly wisdom bestowed upon the COVID-19 task force, scientists and other personnel involved in research to develop accurate diagnostic kits, effective and safe broad-spectrum antiviral treatment and vaccines against COVID-19

General Precautions:
- If you are not feeling well, have a fever, or are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, please stay home to avoid spreading illness to others. - Washing your hands frequently
- Maintaining social distance (6 feet) from anyone coughing or sneezing
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
- Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze
- If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
Dear BCF Family,
We will like to acknowledge many of our students, alumni, sponsors, and families who are grieving in this pandemic period as a result of loved ones who are either critically sick or have passed on from COVID-19. We are asking the Holy Spirit, the God of all comfort to remain your Succor in this trying time. We also remain thankful to the workers whose commitment to ensuring our access to essential services puts them at high risk of exposure to this disease.
There are many questions about COVID 19 that research has not provided clear answers to. So be mindful of well-meaning marketers claiming how homemade remedies and loading up on vitamins and minerals cured COVID disease. Note that vitamins and minerals may help boost the immune system but are not curative. Nutrients from fresh food sources are better absorbed than supplements. The following are sources of nutrients to boost your immunity
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Elderberry
- Zinc
We also implore you not to relax or lower your guards in taking all the precautions to prevent exposure as recommended by your state health authority. Encourage each other to continue
- Proper hand-washing, frequent sanitization of surfaces and other hygiene practices
- Appropriate usage and disposal of gloves and masks
Most importantly, beware of scams and scammers advertising fake home test kits and vaccines that are not based on validated well-designed studies. Be mindful of various social media news and information aimed at confusing you. Be careful of fake services including apps, job advertisements, and links marketed and inviting your remote access. Fake job and college recruiter calls, financial investments, sales promotions, and fundraisers.
We pray that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God remain with you (2Corinthian 1:3-4).
Sincerely,
